Aylesbury Work Experience/Placements

Aylesbury Waterside Theatre offers several week long work experience placements per year for young people aged 15 and above. These are suitable for students undertaking their year 10 work experience or any student interested in pursuing a career in arts management.

Work experience weeks at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre give successful applicants the opportunity to shadow different departments including theatre management, box office, marketing, press, front of house, technical and events.

Please note that Aylesbury Waterside Theatre is a “receiving house” – a theatre which solely presents touring productions, as opposed to a “producing house” which, as the name suggests, produces the shows on its stage itself and doesn’t “buy in” shows. It is for this reason that we are not able to provide students with work placements in acting, theatre production, stage management, wardrobe, theatrical make-up or directing. Our placements are only suitable for those interested in gaining a greater understanding of how a theatre is run and the different departments working within it.
