We’ll be running our Work In Theatre courses again in 2018 – find out more about this course designed to give anyone interested in a career in the theatre industry (of any age over 14 years) a broad taster of the work behind the scenes in a West End theatre.Feedback from past participants:

Directing for theatre
Join Theatre 503′s new Artistic Director Lisa Spirling as she introduces you to her journey and experience in directing.
Lisa will guide the group through a number of exercises throughout the day designed, to utilise the kind of skills used by directors to bring together a great show. Whether you are a budding Director, or have always wanted to turn your hand to directing a piece of your own, this could be the perfect workshop for you.

Learn to sing some great songs from Sung-through Musicals (little or no spoken text) with the talented Louisa Green, West End MD on such shows as Cabaret and The Producers.
Louisa will guide you through a vocal warm-up and then work with the group on a variety of songs learning melodies and harmonies. Experience this workshop in a relaxed and creative atmosphere with like-minded souls enjoying singing together.

6 week intermediate Writing for Theatre course – COURSE FULL
Come and find inspiration for your writing at the beautiful Lyceum Theatre, for our six week Intermediate Writing Course, held on Monday evenings from 22nd May between 6pm and 7:30pm.
If you’ve already had some experience writing, but need practical help and advice about achieving your ultimate goal of writing a FULL LENTGH play, then this course may well be for you.
You will be working with successful playwright Ali Taylor, who’ll help you explore your work, and assist you in honing your own unique voice and taking your writing to the next level. Culminating in a rehearsed reading of AN EXCERPT OF your work in one of our West End venues with professional actors in front of an invited audience

Devising and Improvisation workshop
Working with like-minded people and guided by Joe Arkley, an experienced West End Actor, explore your untapped creative side, allowing your spontaneity and instinct to kick in to make for an thrilling exploration into devising and improvisation.
Joe will give you the necessary tools to create or approach any text, freeing you up to make exciting discoveries.
